Up until now I've been sourcing my peptides through a nurse practitioner, so quality hasn't been something I've had to stress over. They handle everything — reconstitution, syringes, alcohol swabs, the whole setup. The downside is the cost is pretty steep and the location is about an hour away from me each way.

There's a woman at my gym who sells peptides at a noticeably lower price, and since I see her three times a week it would obviously be way more convenient to go that route. But before I make any moves I want to do my due diligence and make sure what she's selling is actually legitimate and properly sourced.

What should I be asking her, or asking to see, to feel reasonably confident in the product? Are there specific documentation, lab reports, or other indicators I should look for? Appreciate any guidance from people who've navigated this before.

Went through the same rabbit hole myself. COAs are just a sample of a batch and even reputable places can under or overfill, so at minimum you want to see testing across several markers - purity, endotoxins, HPLC, etc. Personally I lean toward US-based manufacturers with registered facilities because they have more to lose legally and are held to higher standards, even if it costs an extra $20-50 per vial. At the end of the day you're making injections into your research subject, so it's worth doing a real risk/reward analysis - and remember you can always send vials out for independent testing.

Honestly, grey market all the way for me.

Honestly my girlfriend works in healthcare and I'd bet money she and your average gym bro are pulling from pretty much the same suppliers lol. The main difference is just the fancy packaging and a COA from a domestic lab slapped on it.

It's kind of a frustrating loop now — you go to research and every thread just says "go research" with no actual direction. The gray market is still out there but navigating it is genuinely annoying. If budget isn't a concern, there are solid US-based companies with legit COAs and fast shipping, but you'll pay for that convenience. Really just comes down to what you're willing to deal with.

Honestly just go gray like everyone else here will probably tell you — takes a little digging but once you find a solid source you'll never bother with anything else.

Seriously, avoid buying from some guy at your gym no matter how much you trust him — there's just no way to know what's actually in it or whether it's safe.

Genuine question - when people say a source has "gone grey," are they talking about aging out or does that phrase mean something different in this context?

Does anyone have some good tips for how to actually vet a source before pulling the trigger on a purchase?
